One Hundred Fifty Banks to Fail This Year - Is Yours One of Them?

Pre-foreclosure (lis pendens) filings in all New Jersey Counties Rise Dramatically
Important information for Paramus, New Jersey residents who are contemplating filing a bankruptcy case:

Paramus, New Jersey (Bergen County) Bankruptcy Cases, Judges and Trustees

As your local bankruptcy lawyer, I file bankruptcy cases for clients in Paramus and other parts of Bergen County.   The Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey is split into three parts or vicinages.  Cases filed in Bergen County will be held in the Bankruptcy Court located in Newark, New Jersey.   Trustee meetings or meetings of creditors for Bergen County are also held in Newark, at One Newark Center, 14th Floor, located on the corner of Raymond Boulevard and McCarter Highway (Route 21).

Four Bankruptcy Court Judges handle the cases for Bergen County.  They are Judges Gambardella, Sherwood, Papalia and Meisel.   However, in the majority of Chapter 7 cases, you never see a judge, and only deal with a trustee assigned by the U.S. Trustees Office.

If you file a Chapter 7 straight bankruptcy case, your case will be referred to a panel of Bankruptcy Trustees.  One of the Trustees from the panel will be assigned to your case.  Once assigned to your case, that panel Trustee will be responsible for your case until the case is over, the Trustee files a final report, and the judge releases him or her from your case.   Some of the trustees have their own bankruptcy practices and file cases for other debtors, but they cannot preside over their own client's cases.

If you file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in Bergen County, your case will be assigned to the Bankruptcy Trustee for the Newark vicinage.  There only one trustee - her name is Marie-Ann Greenberg and is a former creditors' attorney.  Either Marie-Ann or one of her assistants will conduct your meeting of creditors.

Marvin Wolf files bankruptcy cases throughout Bergen County, including Paramus, where one of his main offices is located.  Marvin files Chapter 7 bankruptcy and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, and sometimes even Chapter 11 cases.  Marvin Wolf is a debt relief attorney and also practices consumer law and foreclosure defense.   He coaches clients in debt settlement, when appropriate.

If you live in Paramus or anywhere in Bergen County, and are considering filing bankruptcy, or want advice about a debt collection issue, please contact the law office of Marvin Wolf to make an appointment for a private consultation.
